Special database object cannot be located

Windows 7 - Mail client 8.5.1.

When I create a meeting invitation, accept a meeting invitation or just add something to my calendar I get:

An error occurred while saving: Special database object cannot be located.

It does add it to my calendar but I still receive this message. If I try to edit the entry once it's in my calendar it will not let me save it.

When I accept the meeting invitation - the sender of the invitation receives my acceptance email but since it can't save the entry once it's in my calendar the invitation stays at the "you haven't responded" status and remains greyed out on my calendar.

So it seems that I can add things initially to my calendar but am unable to save them once they are there.

I looked through a few postings in this forum but nothing was specific to calendar entries.
